BUOYANCY & DENSITY !
BUILD AND TEST YOUR OWN BOAT !!!
STEM NOLA is back with another high-energy, hands-on STEM Saturday, and this time we’re diving deep into the physics of Buoyancy & Density! Students will build, test, and race their own working models of airboats, pontoon boats, and sailboats — exploring how shape, materials, and design affect how things float and move through water.
WHEN: Saturday, May 9, 2026
TIME: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
WHERE: 1600 Constance St New Orleans, LA 70130
WHO: K–12th grade students
COST: Absolutely FREE
It’s a hands-on way to experience science, engineering, and innovation in action. From experimenting with density to learning how forces interact in water, this event makes complex science engaging, competitive, and fun. Whether their boat wins the race or flips in the tank, students will walk away with curiosity sparked and confidence boosted.
TrainingGrounds, Inc. Toddler Corner will also be on hand for the littlest siblings.
