DESCRIPTION:NOLA PARENTS: Ignite Your Child’s Curiosity in STEM!\nSTEM NOLA is back with another high-energy\, hands-on event\, and this time we’re diving deep into a very special STEM Saturday: Saving Our City – Water\, Levees & The Environment! \nWHEN: Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\nTIME: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM\nWHERE: Cut-Off Recreation Center\, 6600 Belgrade Street\, New Orleans\, LA 70131\nCOST: FREE!  \nThis event is open to students in grades K-12\, where they’ll discover the wonders of the environment and learn about wetlands\, flooding\, erosion and the levee system. Kids will explore the vital roles that wetlands play in preventing flooding and protecting ecosystems!  \nThis STEM Saturday offers an in-depth understanding of the challenges related to environmental conservation and the importance of sustainable practices in protecting natural habitats and communities.  \nThis event will be hosted in partnership with Training Grounds\, a community organization dedicated to creating opportunities and resources that support young children and families and expand STEM access in our community. Parents with children ages 0–4 are invited to explore STEM through hands-on play and interactive activities designed just for them!  \nWe’d like to thank our sponsors Entergy\, New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORD)\, the City Of New Orleans\, and the New Orleans City Council for helping us bring STEM to the community.
